Andy Yau is a Midlands-based theatre maker, movement director, and educator who blends Eastern and Western performance traditions. Originally from Hong Kong, where he trained in Musical Theatre Dance, he moved to the UK in 2010 and earned his MA in Acting at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. He teaches at both the Conservatoire and Performers College Birmingham, specializing in Tai Chi and movement. As Co-Director of the School of Playback Theatre UK (2017-2024) and Course Leader for New Earth Academy (2022-2024), he’s developed innovative training programs. His recent work includes award-winning adaptation “The Unravelling – A Reimagining of Woyzeck” and community-engaged projects like “Malaysian Angels of the NHS.”
