True Heart Theatre was founded by Veronica Needa, a visionary whose passion for storytelling and its transformative power left an indelible mark on the community. Veronica believed that stories have the ability to build bridges, foster empathy, and create meaningful connections among people from all walks of life. Under her guidance, True Heart Theatre became a beacon of cultural expression, focusing on diverse storytelling methods that celebrated Asian heritage and promoted intercultural understanding.

Veronica’s dedication to applied theatre reached far beyond the stage. She was committed to making the arts accessible and impactful, leading workshops and performances that empowered individuals, fostered inclusivity, and supported emotional well-being. Her pioneering work laid the foundation for a theatre company that championed creativity as a tool for social change and personal growth.

Following Veronica’s passing, True Heart Theatre took the opportunity to reflect on her legacy and continue her mission with renewed energy and vision. In 2022, Sze Kan Aemiliana Cheung stepped into the role of Artistic Director, bringing her own expertise as a psychodrama psychotherapist and accredited Playback Theatre trainer to further elevate the theatre’s offerings. Cecilia Ung joined as Executive Director, adding her invaluable leadership and strategic vision to expand the theatre’s reach and operations. Cecilia’s background in theatre & arts administration has strengthened True Heart Theatre’s capacity to develop partnerships, coordinate events, and manage programs that align with our mission of cultural storytelling and community engagement.

The team, guided by Veronica’s core values, has expanded to include more opportunities for storytelling and Playback Theatre that resonate with contemporary audiences and meet the needs of schools, corporate partners, and community organizations.

Veronica 對應用戲劇的熱情遠不止於舞台，她致力於讓藝術變得可及且具有影響力，領導工作坊和表演，賦予個人權力，促進包容性並支持精神健康。她的開創性工作奠定了真心劇團團隊的基礎，讓創意成為社會變革和個人成長的重要工具。

在 Veronica 離世後，真心劇團傳承她的共獻，並以新的活力和視野繼續她的使命。2022 年，張思勤 Sze Kan 擔任藝術總監，憑藉她作為心理劇心理治療師和認證《一人一故事劇場》導師的專業知識，進一步提升劇團的服務。吳思衍 Cecilia Ung 加入成為執行總監，為劇團的發展和運營提供寶貴的領導和策略性視野。Cecilia 在 劇場及藝術行政的背景，使真心劇團能夠發展合作夥伴關係、協調活動及管理符合我們文化故事講述和社區參與使命的項目。

在 Veronica 的核心價值指引下，團隊不斷擴展，利用故事演譯和 《一人一故事劇場》等劇場手法回應學校、企業合作夥伴和社區組織的需求，以設計及提供恰當的活動提案。
